Do I need any technical knowledge to complete the assessment?
No. Every question is written in plain English and covers things like whether your broadband router password has been changed. Every question also has an optional explanation if you want more context.
Is this the same as Cyber Essentials certification?
No — and we're upfront about that. Cyber Essentials is a formal UK government certification. Our report is aligned to the same framework and uses the same controls, but it is a self-assessment tool, not a certification. If you need formal certification, our report will show you exactly where to focus before you apply.
Will my answers be stored or shared?
No. Your answers are used only to generate your report and are not stored after your PDF is produced. We don't require you to create an account.
Can I use this report for a cyber insurance application?
Yes — the report is designed with insurance applications in mind. It provides documented evidence of your security controls and posture. However, insurers make their own decisions and we cannot guarantee any particular outcome.
